Privacy notice

The APU – BD Chapter site stores your name, sex, batch year, department, and the profile details you provide (bio, occupation, company, city, country, phone, birthday, blood group, photo). Your account email is always required.
Who can see what. All logged-in members can see your name, batch year, department, bio, occupation, company, city, and country. You choose whether members may see your email, phone, birthday, sex, and blood group, and you can change this any time from your profile settings. Hidden details never appear in the directory or on your profile page. Chapter admins can always see your sex and blood group. Your birthday is always shown as day and month only — never the year.
Members only. No part of the directory, notices, or event lists is visible to the public. Photos are stored outside the public web root and are only served to logged-in members.
Your invite link. If you create an invite link and share it, anyone who opens it sees your name and your member stamp, which shows your class year, city, country, and the date you joined. Nothing else is shown. You can reset the link at any time; the old link then stops working. People who sign up with it are not let in until you confirm you know them and an admin approves them.
Link previews. When you share your invite link in a chat app (WhatsApp, LINE, Messenger, and others), the app shows a preview with your name and your stamp to everyone in the chat. Some apps keep a copy of this preview on their own servers, and that copy can stay after you reset the link. A shared event link shows only the event title; the date, place, and other details are for members only.
Deceased members are kept in the directory as “in memoriam” profiles with all contact details hidden.
Your choices. You can correct your details at any time, hide individual fields, or delete your account completely from your profile page. Deleting your account removes your personal data; the site keeps anonymised audit records of administrative actions.
Questions or requests: contact the admins.
